Discovery Coast - In Brazil - Bahia

Discovery CoastThe Brazilian Discovery Coast is made of approximately 150 km of beaches, inlets, bays, cliffs, rivers and streams. It is surrounded by coconut groves, mangroves and the Atlantic Rain Forest.

 

This is a land and sea of nature excursions with water sports, walks or horse trips, surfing, coral and reef diving.

 

BA 001 and two ferryboat systems across the Rio João de Tiba and Rio Buranhém connect the municipalities with the coast.

 

Recife de Fora and Coroa Alta are accessible by one day boat excursions.

 

 

 

 

 

Various ecological trips are available for visitors;

  • Barra do Cai, passing through the Parque Nacional do Monte Pascoal
  • Caraíva,
  • Trancoso,
  • Arraial d'Ajuda,
  • The environmental protection areas of Santo Antônio and Coroa Vermelha,
  • The delta of Rio João de Tiba to the Rio Jequitinhonha

Santa Cruz de Cabrália – The Environmental Protection Area of Coroa Vermelha is one of the Pataxó Indian reserves. Along the left margin of the Rio João de Tiba, the beaches of Santo André and Santo Antônio are also protected through Environmental Protection Areas.

 

Parque Nacional Marinho de Abrolhos covers the Parcel das Parades and the Abrolhos archipelago, with a series of coral reefs, volcanic islands, wetlands, tide canals and reefs. It is the largest ecotourism area of Bahia. The "Jubarte" whales are the principal attraction. The Abrolhos Parc is located in the Whale Coast south of Discovery coast
